Welcome to our fall tour of all of Iraq! In December.
The area is spoiled with world heritage and completely unspoiled by tourism which means we'll feel like we're the only foreign travelers in the city.
There is a huge amount of ancient and modern history waiting to be explored. We will travel from Baghdad to the holy cities of Najaf and Karbala, then pass through Babylon and the marshes before returning north to Baghdad, Samarra and Mosul. We cover a lot of ground with our knowledgeable local guide who keeps us entertained and explains everything to us as we go.
The second half of the entire Iraq Autumn Tour takes us to the autonomous region of Iraqi Kurdistan where there are plenty of lakes and rivers in which you can relax.

Iraqi Kurdistan grants a visa on arrival to most European countries in addition to the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Brazil, and others.
For southern Iraq, a new visa-on-arrival regime was announced for citizens of the European Union, United Kingdom, United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Switzerland, Russia, China, Japan and South Korea. If you are not from one of these countries, we will apply for a visa on your behalf. An “e-visa” invitation letter is issued and you can receive it electronically and bring it with you to the airport to get the stamp in the passport.
- Arrival in Baghdad. We will provide airport transfers for all incoming flights, check into the hotel.
- Iraq National Museum the oldest museum in the middle east after Egyptian museum in 1926. It contains treasures from all eras of Mesopotamia.
-Baghdad sightseeing - Mutanabbi Street which is the most famous street in Iraq for book, is full of life, music, and the Baghdadi atmosphere, sipping the Iraqi tea in the oldest cafe in Iraq -Al-Shabandar Café, Boat trip.
- Martyr’s Monument dedicated to the Iraqi soldiers who died in the Iran-Iraq war. The Monument was opened in 1983.
- After a delicious local lunch, we will visit the Save Iraqi Culture Monument and see the green zone of Baghdad.
- We will go to the Liberation Square monument in Tahrir Square, which commemorates the establishment of the Republic of Iraq.
- Dinner, over in Baghdad
Driving to Babylon, taking a tour of the ruins of the Babylonian Empire dating back to 2300 BC, we will see the location of the Hanging Gardens, which is considered one of the Seven Wonders of the World.
-Exploring Saddam's biggest palace on the highest plateau with its wonderful view facing the ruins of Babylon, having lunch in Hilla city.
-Driving to Karbala, check in the hotel and having an evening tour of the shrine of Imam Hussein and his brother Abbas, which is one of the holiest religious places for Muslims.
-Dinner, overnight in Karbala.
- Drive to Najaf and go to see Wadi Salam cemetery from the top of a garage which the largest cemetery in the world that contains a trace of 7 million graves inside it.
- Going to Imam Ali shrine.
- Keep going nourth to Nassiriyah city, go to visit Ziggurat of Ur and House of the Prophet Abraham.
- Overnight in Nassiriyah.
- Driving to Mesopotamia marshland, we will take a boat ride through the maze of waterways and visit local villages that live in the same reed houses. Lunch will be very special. Masgouf fish, which has been cooked in the Sumerian style for more than 6 thousand years on a wood fire in a very special way.
- Drive back to Baghdad and visit Taq Qasra, the last remnants of the Persian Empire when they occupied Baghdad two thousand years ago, and it contains the largest arch built of bricks in the world.
- Dinner, overnight in Baghdad.
-We will drive to Samarra and visit the Malawiya minaret, one of the most important tourist attractions in Iraq. It was built in the Abbasid era and was considered the largest mosque in the world at that time, lunch.
-Hatra Kingdom, it represents the first Arab kingdom and is distinguished by its Roman style. Some of it was destroyed during the time of ISIS.
-Drive to mosul, having dinner and overnight in Mosul.
-We will take a tour to explore the reconstruction works of old Mosul that were destroyed during the war against ISIS, including the Al-Nuri Mosque and Al-Hadba Minaret.
-We will visit some heritage places that represent the culture of Mosul with the Baytna Foundation, having lunch.
-Drive to Erbil, having dinner and overnight in Erbil.
