Travel around Mesopotamia with Lets go to Iraq travel agency

Welcome to our fall tour of all of Iraq! In October.

The lands between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers — the heart of ancient Mesopotamia — have drawn travelers, explorers, and great empires for centuries. This is where the first city-states in human history were born, where writing was invented, and where early achievements in mathematics and astronomy later influenced the Greeks.

In the Middle Ages, Baghdad thrived as a bustling center of culture, science, art, and trade. Right up until the second half of the 20th century, Iraq was one of the Middle East’s most prosperous and appealing destinations for visitors.

However, from the 1980s onward, Iraq’s name became closely tied to war, terrorism, and political instability. For decades, the media delivered little more than negative stories, causing many to forget the true richness of Iraq — a land of ancient civilizations and thousands of years of history.

Today, Iraq is experiencing a new beginning. The historic visit of Pope Francis in 2021 helped reopen the country’s doors to travelers. After decades of hardship and conflict, adventurous visitors now have the chance to rediscover the legendary treasures of Mesopotamia and witness the rebirth of a modern nation.

Thanks to positive developments and improved security, especially in the areas we visit, Iraq is no longer considered an active conflict zone. More and more travelers are being welcomed, and the Iraqi people are eager to show the world a new, hopeful side of their country.

Join us on this unforgettable journey to explore the timeless wonders of Iraq and the magical world of Iraqi Kurdistan, where towering mountains guard ancient traditions. Throughout our trip, we’ll uncover the country’s fascinating history, stunning landscapes, and the rich diversity of its people and religions.

By the end of your journey, you’ll see this remarkable part of the Middle East with entirely new eyes — and carry home memories that will stay with you forever.
